Job Description
Job Title: Marketing Manager
Reports to: Marketing Director
Main Purpose of role: To be accountable and measurable for Category Management initiatives that are proactive and customer focused driving profitable Category growth.
To lead a team of people to ensure that category and brand sales and profit targets are achieved.
Specific Responsibilities/ Tasks:
- Provide detailed input into global brand team through the Global Gathering process.
- Manage and coach direct reports to deliver key marketing activities.
- Contribute to and approve key marketing plans and activities to hit allocated brand targets.
- Ensure Marketing Teams include 'must do' global elements within their plans.
- Responsible for ensuring that individual brand plans roll up to a co-ordinated category plan.
- Acts as a key partner for the General Sales Managers to communicate category plans to customers.
- To manage all cross-department projects allocated by the Marketing Director.
- To act as the key PR contact for the category.
- To manage the budget control for the category.
- Management of the research plan.
- Develop strong partnerships with external agencies to enhance delivery of plans.
- Ensure brand team deliver creative excellence.
- Develop and energise brand team by setting clear development programmes, objectives; the vision and team environment for all individuals.
- Analyse results of all marketing activity within category and present findings to senior management.
Staffing responsibilities (Direct & Indirect reports )
Direct responsibility for Senior Brand Managers/Brand Managers/Junior Brand Managers and Team Assistant.

Degree or equivalent
Desirable
Post-graduate degree in a Marketing or Business discipline
Experience required
Essential
- A graduate with work experiences in a marketing department, ideally in a classic marketing environment.
- Experience of working in multi-discipline teams.
- Evidence of project management skills
- Evidence of managing a portfolio of brands.
- P&L management and brand profitability.
- Understanding and delivering to customer needs.
Knowledge and Skills required
- A confident and effective communication style, both verbal and written at all levels.
- An ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
- PC literate - especially basic spreadsheet skills and e-mail. Exposure to Internet and Intranet packages.
- Able to communicate with a large number of people from different functions and countries.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Able to think in a global context.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
